SCIOS Scope 7C first special inspection (Only in the Netherlands)
SCIOS inspection for your emergency power generator has been a legal obligation since January 1, 2016. As of January 1, 2016, the regulations regarding the inspection and testing of combustion plants, including aggregates, and the associated fuel supply have been changed. ABATO Motoren can assist you with the implementation of SCIOS testing and inspection.
Do you have an emergency power generator? Below you can read which inspections and tests may be mandatory for you. If desired, the inspection can also be combined with the performance of maintenance work.
You can easily calculate maintenance, SCIOS and other services for your generator using our maintenance calculator:

The certified SCIOS testing and inspection that ABATO Motoren offers are:
Explanation
Any generator from 20 kW
th must be legally inspected for SCIOS in accordance with the criteria of the Certification Inspection and Maintenance of Combustion Installations Foundation (SCIOS). This concerns the Scope 4 safety inspection.
The first inspection is a First Special Inspection (EBI) and this must be periodically followed by a Periodic Inspection (PI). The inspection frequency for Scope 4 depends on the capacity of the emergency power generator and is once every 4 years for generators smaller than 100 kW
th, and once every 2 years for aggregates from 100 kW
th.
If there is a fuel supply line to an external tank, there is also a Scope 7C obligation. This concerns the inspection of the fuel supply line from the fuel tank to the installation.
A First Special Inspection (EBI) is started and this must be periodically followed by a Periodic Inspection (PI). The inspection frequency for Scope 7C (fuel pipes) in this case is once every 2 years (from 100 kW
th aggregate) or once every 4 years.
If your generator is (also) used for non-emergency situations, i.e. for the generation of power that is not an emergency (peak shaving, island operation, commercial generation of power), a legal requirement applies for the control of emissions. This is the additional SCIOS inspection Scope 6. The extent of the emission control depends on the power of the diesel engine. A so-called First Special Inspection (EBI) will be started again and this will be periodically followed by a Periodic Inspection (PI). The inspection frequency for Scope 6 (emissions) is once every 4 years.
